OMG @ Ficelle Boulangerie & Patisserie

In 10th Kl, we have so many acronyms that I get confuse sometimes. One of the acronyms that I look forward to is OMG which stands for "Officers Makan Gathering". Sadly, we do not always have time for this due to all our busy schedules :(

Anyway, the last OMG was held in Ficelle, Taman Desa. Ficelle is a hidden gem, shadowed by its more popular and well-known sister company, Levain. It has good food, cool seating area, great pastries.. what more do you need? *oh, I forgot to add... and gorgeous cashier :)*

Japanese Curry Rice

Soft Shell Crab Salad

Pizza Something

Oh, the glorious Tiramisu....

They have other varieties of pasta and and bakeries and pastries and food but I didn't manage to capture them...

And again, I forgot to take any pictures of humans. Gosh... I'm totally suck at that. I can take pictures of everything else but will forget the humans... Am I anti-social or what?

And then a couple of days after that, I dropped by for a quick lunch cum tea in between customer and I ordered the same Soft Shell Crab Salad again... healthy and delicious, what more do I need :)

And someone *who I shall not named just in case her boss accidentally reads this* sneak me a tiny piece of cheese cake... which totally ruined my healthy eating plan for that day..

I can't describe the food to you, you got to try them yourself. Just grab a book or some friends, head towards Taman Desa and check out their awesome pastry and dessert...

Be sure to try out their Tiramisu or their cheese cake or the new durian cake or even the chocolate puff *I think that's what its called* or maybe the Green Tea...aiyah, just try everything la...

I'll blame them if I start putting on kgs :)

Will be dreaming sweet, mouth watering, delicious dreams tonight for sure..*hint hint to someone who again I shall not name just in case her boss read this: please throw some desserts over here!!!*

Too much travelling

* skip this post if you hate long rambling nonsense post..

I'm flying off again... yes again... next week for a long 10 days holiday!!! Woots!!!!

I'm normally pretty excited about my trips and spend so much time planning *intensive research* from the places to visit, the transportation, the costs of everything there, to the time we wake up each morning.. seriously... I consider myself an expert on travelling and planning *self praise a bit* and I really enjoy doing it..

However, whenever I travel with Rockstar and his family, I leave most of the planning to his father and just tag along wherever they go... Sometimes its troublesome especially whenever everyone wants to go their different ways... but other then that it's fine..  OK, I'm sidetracking.. Back to what I wanted to say..

On Tuesday night, I found out that uncle will not be joining us for all 10 days but only for 3 days for the tour to Zhuhai, China. So now I'm in a fixed, I need to plan my 7 other day.. and to prepare everything within 1 week time.

I cannot decide whether to stay in Macau, and visit Hong Kong or stay in Hong Kong to visit Macau and Shenzhen or stay in Shenzhen and visit Macau and Hong Kong. The cheapest accommodation is of cause Shenzhen, followed by Macau then Hong Kong. But travelling from Shenzhen will take a lot of time and money.  The bus ride in Macau is cheap costing about RM4 each time you board the bus, but Hong Kong's MRT is between RM5-9 per stop and the feri ride between Hong Kong  and Macau cost about RM60 per way. And then the tour to Zhuhai is right in the middle of the 10 days.

My plan so far is to spend the 1st night in Macau, then cross over to Shenzhen via Hong Kong, spend 2 nights there before heading back to Macau for another night. Then cross the border to Zhuhai for the 3 days tour before coming back to Macau, crossing over to HK and staying 1 night there *since its so expensive* and then back to Macau for the last night. Are you confused yet? That's only the plan. I have not work out the transportation, the costing and most importantly the accommodation ...ahhhhh!!!. It's 1 week till we arrive
and all accommodations are so freaking expensive. Anyone can help???

And since uncle is not going, its only going to be Rockstar & me.... and aunty!! It's kinda weird isn't it? No, It's not that I don't feel comfortable with her. I've been on so many trips with her and have stayed in countless of hotel rooms with her... just that I feel its so high school.. Rockstar and me.. and a chaperon....

I like aunty.. really...And considering that she gave me the keys to their house few years back instead of Rockstar, I think I can consider that she likes me have more trust in me then Rockstar did :)

On top of that... My bank account kinda empty.. must.stop.travelling.so.much...

OK. Enough of my rambling... Back to work and planning *groans*

Random Life

I managed to extract pictures from my phone finally after so many months. The cable had some problem and my laptop couldn't detect my handphone. Anyway, problem solved and here are some random photos I've taken the past few months...

Traffic jam Standstill jam outside UTAR PJ campus while waiting to pick my brother up after his classes..

Me waiting by the roadside reading a book after my car overheated on a hot Saturday afternoon in a traffic jam. Yes, that's NKVE highway behind me.. There were some roadworks going on and it was jam for a couple of hours.. I know cause I was there for more then an hour..

View from Mt. Dandenong, Victoria, Australia..

Opening of Music Master Cheras branch in August 2011

And as always, 10th KL pictures..

This picture was taken last year but I think I have not posted it up before.

SMSS Speech Day @ Wisma FGA KL, 6th August 2011.

Members taking their test after Speech Day. Please ignore the kindergaden style tables and chairs. We were using whatever resources we could get in Wisma FGA.

Brandon's Birthday Sabo, 24th September 2011. More sabo pictures here

This was quite funny. Brandon was washing himself under the tap but Joshua and Aidan keep spraying more foam on him without him knowing, and the more he wash, the more foam there was. Such mean friends...

BNTS 201 @ Sri Sempurna, building a tower with papers.

Juniors holding hands while praying during a Prayer Session.

Me twinnie's engagemnet ring.

IKEA's ice-cream.. Yummy! They have this new ice-cream dispenser where you will be given a coin after paying at the counter. Then you walk towards the dispenser, put your cone in its holder, put your coin in, and press the button. Voila! Ice-cream starts squishing out.

That's all. I don't really take much photos with my phone as I lug my DSLR everywhere I go :)

oh happy day!

10 things that makes me terribly happy:

*I just found this picture that I took some time back along the school corridor which brought a smile to my face. I don't know why, its the combination of the yellow green-dotted giraffe standing all alone and unwanted by a rubbish heap...

          1. climbing into my bed each night
          2. having ice-cream with Rockstar
          3. my newly organized table
          4. completing my target for the days work
          5. having dinner with my family
          6. conversation on an airplane
          7. food, glorious food..
          8. planning for my next trip
          9. smiles after kisses
          10. completed laundry stand
*I hate doing ironing and will wait till it piles up or I have no clothes left to wear*

Manila & Tagaytay, Philippines - Day 0 and Day 1

2 months ago, I was given the opportunity to conduct a training in Manila, Philippines and here's what happened...

Departure from KLIA...
I just realized that the lights are so pretty, like stars or diamonds twinkling in the sky..

Breakfast @ Changi Airport, Singapore. Arrived in Changi Airport almost midnight, slept a couple of hours there before waking up for breakfast and catching a 5am flight to Manila. One thing I like in Changi Airport is that the food wasn't overpriced. Its about the same you pay outside the airport.

Yee Khai getting a free food massage while waiting to board the plane :) We all did. Its good and relaxing just that its kinda gross to put your feet where goodness-knows-whose-smelly-feet have been before. But then again, we were all wearing socks and.... who gives free massages? In Malaysia, you got to pay for it...

Some random flowers in the airport...

First glimpse of Manila.. Woohoo! So excited...

Upon arrival we were brought to the Manila Polo Club *yes, POLO CLUB!!!* for lunch courtesy of Mr.J. He is a very rich elderly businessman who now spends his time and money on street children's development. He bought a land, build a community center cum school cum church... in Manila *more on that in another post*

Japanese food with a fusion of Philippines food lunch buffet. Just a few choices available but good food.

There was free flow of TEMPURAS!!! I'm a big fan of tempura... and its not only vegetables, there was loads of prawns too. Me like :)

Some fusion food... Didn't try it..

Healthy me :)
Started with fruits and salad... Oh, but their salad bar... fantastic!! Lots of variety...

Salad with Mango Sauce... One of the best tasting food there!!
I skipped dessert. Surprisingly considering I have a sweet tooth...

We took a 1.5 hours drive from Manila to CCT Taytaytay Training & Retreat Center, Tagaytay where the training will be held. Tagaytay its located in the highlands and inside a Volcano. Gosh, I am staying inside a Volcano, how scary is that? Its a brand new training center, fully equipped with facilities and everything is so nice, clean and new.

Entrance

Hall

Canteen

Dormitories and meeting rooms. Landscaping not completed yet...

However, I did not stay here. We were taken to another retreat center to stay. As we were driving there, I saw so many retreat and training centers. Its seems like every denomination, every religion opened a training center in Tagaytay. I can see why so... the place is beautiful. Lush greens everywhere, rolling hills, cool weather.

Tiny garden at the retreat center I stayed in.

And Philippines hospitality is just so good. I had a room to myself and they *our hosts* provided mineral water just in case we were not comfortable with the Philippines water *how thoughtful* and they even gave us chocolates just in case we got hungry in the room.. Tho I must admit, I was full to the brim every single minute there. We ate non-stop... Seriously...

And talking about food... That night, we were taken to this delicatessen named Santis for dinner. Santis Delicantessen  is a high-end shop that provides world-wide gourmet food..

You can see, there is a wide range of food provided. Some I have not even heard off... actually most of it :) *failed*

We get to choose our choice of meat raw... as shown in pictures below... and it will then be cooked for us * not all Santis branches offers dining experience*

And as usual, here are some of what we ate. It was a large group, so I only managed to capture selected food..

Home-made bread and butter..

Tuna Sashimi salad.
I am a person that does not eat raw food.. but this.. this was just too awesome to miss. When we first tasted it, we could not decide if it was fish or something else. The flesh was so soft.. and we didn't even have to use a knife. Just by using a fork, we could scoop up bits of sashimi. Two thumbs up!!

I think this was Ceaser Salad or some salad.. Can't remember the name..

I think this was Rib Steak with butter rice..*or is it t-bone?*

I think this is either T-bone or rib... *can't recall*... or is it chicken?

And this... this is my order... Beef Tenderloin Steak with a side of mash potatoes... Best I have ever tasted! What I really like about it is that most of the cuts were cooked just marinated. No added spices or sauces to accompany it. You can taste the flavour of the beef just by itself. Pure, original, soft and delicious..

And all that washed down with a glass of cold pineapple juice..

Did I mention how much I like Philippines already? *satisfied*

How much did it all cost? I don't know. Everything we ate for the next 4 days was courtesy of Mr. J. Big thank you to him!!!

After dinner , bed time. Have to be up early cos training starts tomorrow!!! But I did stayed up a little working on my lesson and it poured the whole night... It did rain almost 90% of the time I was there as Typhoon Mina paid us a visit :)

More of my trip next time...Till then :)
