Amazing Bridal Spa Party @ Vita Spa

*post first appeared on www.doubleescapades.blogspot.com

Next week, a girlfriend will be crossing from singlehood to being married and I couldn't be more happy for her. We celebrate this transition with a girls pampering session and a wild night after :)

When we decided on a pampering session, the next question is "Where?". My first thought was automatically Vita Spa as I have been there a couple of years back for a friend's bridal shower. I contacted them and they very efficiently made the necessary arrangements for us.

I stepped into Vita Spa and was greeted with soothing music and sweet smelling incense. The blue lights gave it a slightly futuristic feel but the flickering candlelight made the atmosphere soothing and cosy at the same time. Slippers were placed in a row for us to slip out of our heels into something comfortable. Everything was laid out, ready, awaiting the arrival of the VIP and her girlfriends.

Finally, the Bride-to-be arrived and we were given some time to nibble on beautifully laid out fruits while we picked our door gifts. There were whoops of joy as freebies such as OPI nail varnishes and spa treatment vouchers were drawn by each girl. We took some time deciding on which type of aromatherapy oil and scrub we wanted and then it was the pampering session time. No pictures taken during as I myself drifted off in bliss as the skillful masseur worked her magic.

After an amazing session, we were all feeling gorgeous, relaxed and ready to party the night away at The Social in Publika. Although I might say that the service at The Social wasn't up to par but the crowd gave opportunities for all the 'tasks' we had for the bride-to-be. We were really grateful for all the diners and visitors at Publika who were sporting enough to play along with her ;p I will not post up pictures of what happened that night as what happened there stays between the girls but here's a group picture.

I had fun and I know that the whole group enjoyed themselves too.

Not many places cater for big groups who have different requirements but I am thankful that not only did Vita Spa accommodated our group of noisy girls, they did such a great job with our various requests. If you ever need a place to have a bridal party, I would recommend going there. There were 7 of us and we had an average of 2.5-3 hours of treatment each varying from aromatherapy massage, body scrub, body mask, spa manicure or pedicure, gel manicure or pedicure and facial. The bride-to-be had an additional jacuzzi floral bath. The bridal party/bachelorette party package also included door gifts. We each paid only RM180 for treatments that is worth at least RM310-370 and door gifts worth RM50-80. Isn't that an amazing, awesome deal??

Now, time for me to dig out the vouchers I got from my door gift and take my mum over for a pampering session. I asked them if they were having any Mother's Day promotion and they informed me that they are. For Mother's Day, they are offering complimentary facial for customers who purchase a minimum of 1 hour aromatherapy massage (based on their menu price) throughout the entire month of May. They have just recently introduced a new facial using products from an award winning brand - Institut Esthederm from France, which is very effective, yet gentle to the skin. What a great way to treat their customers! Why just pamper our body when our face needs pampering too?

And guess what?!! The nice people at Vita Spa is offering a FREE toe nail colour service with any purchase at Vita Spa Solaris to any of our readers. There is no minimum purchase. All you gotta do is just use the magic word 'doubleescapades' and you get it for FREE.

OK. Time to set my appointment with them :)

Top Wedding Sites I like

OK. Since I've got a lot of backdated wedding posts up, spare me by allowing me to post them up ok?

Anyway, while I was planning my wedding (and my sisters wedding), I did quite a lot of researching via online. Reason being is that its so easy to save pictures for inspiration and I could even sneak in some time during work (not so obvious as opening a wedding magazine, etc. ;p).

I have thousands of pictures which I saved under various folders. Seriously... They really did help me when I did my inspiration board, and coming up with ideas for my wedding.

So here's my list of top wedding sites for inspiration and ideas and DIYs, hoping that this will help bride-to-bes or future bride-to-bes. :)

Of cos there are so many other wedding blogs/forums/websites/etc. So please feel free to google and search for them. The websites listed here are my just some of my favourites and I though I should share them out :)

Happy planning peeps!!!

Am I with the right person?

When Rockstar and I were dating, there were many times that I ask myself this question. And Rockstar, being the deep thinker philosopher guy, he told me this... which I thought it make sense. Every since, I've tried telling others when they asked me this kind of questions... but its hard to put in in the right words.

However, I read this on the web and found it to absolutely right on the dot.. So yeah, read it and let me know if you agree with me or not. :)

AM I WITH THE RIGHT PARTNER?

During a seminar, a woman asked," How do I know if I am with the right person?"

The author then noticed that there was a large man sitting next to her so he said, "It depends. Is that your partner?" In all seriousness, she answered "How do you know?" Let me answer this question because the chances are good that it's weighing on your mind replied the author.

Here's the answer.

Every relationship has a cycle… In the beginning; you fall in love with your partner. You anticipate their calls, want their touch, and like their idiosyncrasies. Falling in love wasn't hard. In fact, it was a completely natural and spontaneous experience. You didn't have to DO anything. That's why it's called "falling" in love.

People in love sometimes say, "I was swept of my feet."Picture the expression. It implies that you were just standing there; doing nothing, and then something happened TO YOU.

Falling in love is a passive and spontaneous experience. But after a few months or years of being together, the euphoria of love fades. It's a natural cycle of EVERY relationship.

Slowly but surely, phone calls become a bother (if they come at all), touch is not always welcome (when it happens), and your spouse's idiosyncrasies, instead of being cute, drive you nuts. The symptoms of this stage vary with every relationship; you will notice a dramatic difference between the initial stage when you were in love and a much duller or even angry subsequent stage.

At this point, you and/or your partner might start asking, "Am I with the right person?" And as you reflect on the euphoria of the love you once had, you may begin to desire that experience with someone else. This is when relationships breakdown.

The key to succeeding in a relationship is not finding the right person; it's learning to love the person you found.

People blame their partners for their unhappiness and look outside for fulfilment  Extramarital fulfilment comes in all shapes and sizes.

Infidelity is the most common. But sometimes people turn to work, a hobby, friendship, excessive TV, or abusive substances. But the answer to this dilemma does NOT lie outside your relationship. It lies within it.
I'm not saying that you couldn't fall in love with someone else. You could. And TEMPORARILY you'd feel better. But you'd be in the same situation a few years later.

Because (listen carefully to this):

The key to succeeding in a Relationship is not finding the right person; it's learning to love the Person you found.

SUSTAINING love is not a passive or spontaneous experience. You have to work on it day in and day out. It takes time, effort, and energy. And most importantly, it demands WISDOM. You have to know WHAT TO DO to make it work. Make no mistake about it.

Love is NOT a mystery. There are specific things you can do (with or without your partner), Just as there are physical laws Of the universe (such as gravity), there are also laws for relationships. If you know how to apply these laws, the results are predictable.

Love is therefore a "decision". Not just a feeling.

Remember this always: God determines who walks into your life. It is up to you to decide who you let walk away, who you let stay, and who you refuse to let GO..

Bridal Shower No.2

I was just looking through my photos and realized I didn't post pictures from my 2nd bridal shower yet. So here's what happened.

A tea party with my cousin sisters, aunties, and some close friends. Lydia planed and coordinated everything - decoration, food, invitation, presents.

Mushroom Salad, Tuna & Egg Sandwich, Onion Rings, Tuna Cheese Crackers, Hokaiddo Cake & Japanese Jellies

Since its a tea party, we cannot not have tea right? With 6 different types of tea, we all could pick and choose our favourites and even try new ones. Lydia also had a brilliant but sinful idea to have ice cream, topped with almond, nuts flakes and caramel sauce. Absolutely delish!!

After food, we moved on to the gifts session. Everyone brought gifts which are house related. I received pot, pan, cups, kettle, plates, multi-cooker, towels, apron, lamp and spa stuff. Just enough to start my kitchen and more. And then everyone shared some wishes and advice.

Since everyone was so nice to bring me gifts, I decided to give them something small in appreciation. Everyone left with a rose compact mirror which I was lucky to to get in my wedding theme colours.

Having a tea party beats having a bachelorette party any time  It's simple, meaningful and I feel so love. Thanks Lydia for everything... and to my mum, sisters, aunties, cousin sisters, and friends, thank you for your presents and advices/ wishes. Love you ladies much... :)

* Event happened a few months back on 9th September 2012.

Such a busy year but amazing too... It was a roller-coaster ride but as 2012 draws to a close, I am looking forward to 2013 and wondering what it will bring on. Lots of plans but will leave all to God.  He has shown me just how Awesome life can be when I put my life, my husband and everything into His hands.

Good-bye 2012!

I can Wedding Car decorator

2 weeks ago, a friend's fiancée thanked me for agreeing to help with their wedding car decoration. I was like,"What??!!". To spare the groom from any trouble, I agreed knowing that he somehow forgot to ask me. -_-

Last night, Eunice and I put our wits and minds and sweat together, not knowing how or what to do. It's both our first time.

But surprisingly, we did quite a good job (If I may say so myself) :p

We are happy.
The groom is happy.
The bears and flowers did not fly away en route to bride's house in Melacca.

Yay! Job well done.

But please don't look under the bonnet. Some things are best kept unseen ;p

It does shows our unprofessional-ism right?

a unique wedding ring

A wedding band is said to be the beginning of suffering but I beg to differ. When 2 person gets married, they have the choice of wanting wedding bands or not. Suffering does not rely on wedding bands. And contrary to traditional beliefs, yes you can have other forms of wedding bands instead or rings.

When rockstar and I were planning our wedding, we talked about it and decided that we didn't want an expensive one (so that there won't be an option to sell/pawn our rings away if we are broke :p). So we started our hunt. I didn't like any of the ones that we saw cos it was too streamlined and boring for me. I wanted something special and unique.

*really sorry I can't link it. It's been a long time and I don't remember where I got this from. If anyone knows, please let me know and I will happily give the credit bacl.

And I finally found it. A picture of the Internet from a US website. The problem then was that it would cost a bomb to custom-made it in the US. We did then continue looking for other options but my heart was still with my 1st love.

I then searched on the possibility of locally custom-made ones. Most company turned me down, some offered something which wasn't to our liking but eventually we found our jeweler. Sofia Lee was recommended by a friend and we were very happy with her. She very nice and gave us lots of creative ideas.

So the story did end happily. I got my custom made finger print ring and a husband :) Isn't it perfect? I love it so much.

p.s. Do contact her if you want to custom made wedding bands or any jewelry. 012-7730057. Her price was slightly above our budget but it was so worth it. Don't bother looking for other company, which I made a mistake of doing. Guess what happened after I did not take their service. They stole my idea and started using it for others. I found out and confronted them. 3 emails. Nota single response. They didn't even bother to give any excuses. I won't say the name of that company as its quite a well-known one but if you are interested, drop me a mail and I will let you know.

Our Wedding Ceremony

Sorry it took so long. All the wedding photos are in Rockstar's computer and then I had to sort through them and decide which to post and which not too. There are just too many beautiful pictures and I can't decide which I like the best.

Anyway, here are the highlights of my wedding day :)

All ready, waiting for the groom. I must say that my make-up artist, Cindy Hor did an amazing job. I love my hair and make-up that day. I wanted natural, and she did that and more..

I was getting quite agitated 'cos it was late. Finally, almost 1/2 an hour late, Rockstar arrives in his black chariot.

A quick snap before rushing to church. Long story. But too cut it short, the car entourage was too big and they had to keep waiting for each other.

With the groom men, best man, maid-of-honour and bridesmaid, such gorgeous and handsome people we have.

We arrived slightly late but our registrar, Pastor Vincent, Senior Pastor of GTPJ was patient and did not make a fuss about our punctuality.

Then its time. I walk down the aisle with my daddy, flank by the members of the 10th Kuala Lumpur Boys' Brigade Company, Malaysia.

Can't remember what we were laughing about but I like this picture :) It sets the mood for the entire ceremony.

Praise & Worship was lead by Jon Koo & Hwee Yen.
Sharing of Word was done by Pastor Mark, a fellow BB officer and a friend.

Then comes the important part.

We said our vows and promised each other

We exchange rings.

We had the Unity Candle lighting.

And then, we walk down the aisle as men and wife. Oh wait, we had to kiss first, then only walk.

Then comes the fun, crazy part. Group pictures!!! and of cos lunch was served outside.

And then we took some pictures 'cos the backdrop was so damm nice :p

It was perfect. I love everything about it. I wanted my wedding to be casual, fun, happy, relax, and filled with people we love. It was everything I wanted it to be and more.

Surprisingly, no problems or glitches :p It's either I was too self-absorb with happiness or that I have awesome wedding coordinators :) Thanks to me twinnie, Lydia & my cell leader, Michelle for being such great coordinators. And my family for being the best help. Without them, my wedding would not be pretty. I'm so lucky to have talented siblings :)

There's just so much that I want to record down and remember and I planned to do more individual wedding post later.

More wedding pictures here.
