Day 2 - Macau Island : Old vs. New

Warning: Time to grab a cup of tea or coffee.

Narrow winding lanes, hidden buildings, interesting architecture, mysterious sounding lanes. The south section of the Macau tourist line seem to attract less people compare to its bustling sister in the central and northern area. Walking through tiny winding lanes with cobblestones pavements, occasionally passing by people wandering down the lanes, we took a slow stroll pass life in Macau. Hidden among rows and rows of flats were beautiful buildings waiting... just waiting to hear the footsteps of travelers.

St Augustine's Church

Hidden right at the end, way behind the pulpit were a figure of Jesus bearing the cross. As I linger on to stare at the beautiful ceiling, I overheard that touching the feet of Jesus brings blessing to the 'toucher'. Well, I did not touch it. After all, I see God's blessings in my life everyday :)

A tiny corner at the Sir Robert Ho Tung Library gave refuge during the heat of the day. A space tuck away from the bustling city, surrounded by bigger buildings. Like an oasis. Such a hidden gem.

Dom Pedro V Theatre. Closed for renovation :(

More narrow lanes.
Like treasure hunting.
Walking passed lanes hoping to catch a glimpse
of beautiful buildings hidden among its lesser cousins.

Intricate gate design

Beautiful colours in the sanctuary of the St. Lawrence's Church.

Beige on the outside of St. Lawrence's Church.

Tiny gift shop tuck under some trees.

Glimpse of clock pillar of the St. Lawrence's Church.

Rose pink building of the Central Office of the Macau S.A.R. Government. I like..

Too soon, we arrive into a different world with modern buildings and high-rises.

View of Macau Tower from afar.
Was hoping to jump off from it.
Maybe another time.

More buildings and high rise.
Such a vast contrast between the old and new.
Sometimes I feel culture and creativity gets lost in the process of civilization.

We ended our morning with lunch at New Yaohan.

Roast Chicken Rice

Korean Beef Fried Rice MOP38

Korea Kimchi Dumplings MOP23

Mango Dessert with slices of jack fruit in milk & Mango Pudding with Sago

Afternoon adventure coming..

all set to rock and roll

Sorry for being so quiet for the past 1 week. Really busy with work. I just got back from Ipoh this afternoon. Was away for a work function for 3 days and I dragged my twinnie and youngest sister with me for free labour.. muahaha!!!! *evil laugh* but i fed them well :)

It's was quiet and boring; and I used the time to catch up on tv series and Marval anime *wolverine comes in anime now :) * and some wedding planning. Yes, I've started planning for it.. We are targeting for a date which I will not say for now; but within less then 1 year time frame. I'm working on the theme *woots! so many ideas* and guest list - its so difficult deciding who to invite. I've so many friends and kids...  to all my friends who wanna see me get married; start being nice to me!!! :)

Talking about that, lots of friend asked why I didn't blog about my engagement.. I did. If you didn't read between the lines; click here to read about it. The post pretty much sum up the whole thing. I will not be doing another post on it.

Some people make their engagement a big thing. I'm not condemning it. Its just that for me, a proposal its just between 2 person. Its a promise made, a commitment to each other. What happened, how it happened, its just not necessary for everyone else to know. So for those who are curious, I'm really sorry but I'm not going to tell how it happened or what happened or who say what or did i cry or what he said or anything else.

Anyway, this is just a post to say that I've started planning my wedding and to people around me... watch out... BRIDE-zilla is coming!!!!!

I like criminal minds

10 reasons why I love my iPad2:

1. It's white.
2. It has so many cool apps.
3. I can watch CSI and Criminal Minds and blog at the same time.
4. I can do devotions on my bed before starting my day.
5. I get to read in bed at night without a reading light.
6. I get to work without even getting out off bed :) but then I also carry work to bed at night :(
7. I get to carry google map along without printing out directions on paper.
8. I can watch movies on the go.
9. I just like it la.
10. It's been given by a special someone. :p

My BIL commented yesterday over dinner that my blog post are too long, so from now onwards, I'll keep it as short as possible...hopefully :) or maybe I'll just put a warning sign at the top if it's a super long post :p

Ok, Crminal Minds ending. Time to go.
