a honeymoon : Paris

Finally its out, our honeymoon itinerary to Paris. I will try to blog everything in detail and link it back here so that it will be easier and also if ever you need a guide to Paris, hope this will help :) 

We stayed in Paris for 8 days and in our time there, we managed to only view and experience a small portion of what Paris have to offer. The Paris Pass was a big help - a must have. 

Day 1

Checked into Hyatt Madeleine hotel - Breakfast @ Cafe Madeleine - Walk down Rue Royale towards Place de la Concorde - Take a stroll up Avenue des Champs-Elysees - Admire the architecture of The Grand Palais & Petit Palais - Gaze in awe at Arc de Triomphe - Walk down Boulevard Haussmann - Seat on the steps of Opera Garnier - Window shopping @ Galeries Lafayette - Night light @ The Lourve - Midnight stroll down the river banks

Day 2

Spend some time walking through the galleries @ The Lourve - Had an ice-cream @ Jardin des Tuleries Garden - Visited the Musee d Orsay - took a walk & had dinner with the gypsies @ Notre Dame

Day 3

Tried the famous macaroons @ Laduree - an impromptu photo session with Jon - climb up the winding steps of Arc de Triomphe - view and dinner @ The Effiel Tower

Day 4 

Toured the Opera Garnier - Checked into a Parisian apartment @ Butte Montmartre - Wander the streets of Butte Montmartre - Walk through Bouvelard de Clichy

Day 5

Visited the Les Puces de Saint-Quen - Walk through The Pantheon - Visited Notre Dame, The Crypte Archeologique, The Sainte Chapelle - Took a cruise down the Seine River

Day 6

Shopping @ La Vallee Village Outlet

Day 7

Pastries @ Fauchon, Madeleine - Visited Fragonard Perfume Museum -  Wine Tasting @ O Chateau - Walk through The Passages - Took a sight-seeing bus tour - Dinner @ Chez Clement's, Champs-Elysees

Day 8

Continue the sight-seeing bus tour - Checked into Hyatt Charles de Gaulle - Shopping, walking and dinner @ Roissy

Day 9

Charles de Gaulle Airport - Home Sweet Home

Heya, I'm still alive in case you are wondering.. And yes, the bites still itches like crazy..

I'm currently in Japan for my sort of 2nd honeymoon. We were in Osaka the last few days and just arrived in Tokyo this afternoon.  My legs damn freaking painful from walking around so much. 

It's crazy here in Japan. Hollowen just passed and I've seen enough Spiderman, Alice in Wonderland, the Queen of hearts, maids, sailors, soldiers, Lolitas, Mad Hatters, dolls, witches, the Mario gang, prostitutes, Disney princesses, nurses, the walking dead, corpse, bunnys, animals, fruits, walking around, enough to last me a life time. 

People here are mostly friendly and are willing to go the extra mile to help us. Occasionally, we encounter rude people like a man in 7-11who made a rude sound and being chased out of Krispy Kreme by the cleaning lady. Serious.

I like it here...

bed bugs, cockroach, and all

I grew up hearing the bedtime wish of , "Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite."

Ignorant to the fact of what are beg bugs. Until now.

When my SIL told me that we will be staying at Salang Indah Resort in Tioman Island, I hurriedly google it and behold, was dismay to read really bad reviews. 8 out of 10 complained about it and to add on to that, the horror of bed bugs. 

I then Google about bed bugs, those horrid scarifying bugs, how to spot them, how to prevent, how to get rid of it, everything - and I armed myself with everything possible before heading there. 

Upon arrival, I stripped the mattress, check the bed lining, the dark corners and even though I didn't spot any beg buds, there were some tell-tale signs of black spots - I think. 

As I was getting ready for bed, I spotted a tiny apple seed like thing crawling on my blanket. It looks like a BED BUG!!! I scrambled out of bed and with all the vehemence I had, fling it out the balcony, as far as I could towards the sea. 

That night I huddled up in bed, cocoon myself with my blanket and had a sleepless night, waking up every now with imaginary bugs crawling on my legs, back, stomach... arrgghhh!!!

2nd night wasn't any better, waking up periodically, grabbing for my flashlight and blinding unseen bugs with the vengeance of my bright shining light. At 5.30am, I woke to something crawling up my feet. Its a HUGE ASS COCKROACH!! Or so I think. I shook my leg and gave it a kick in some random direction and it flew - yes it flew. away. and landed with a smack on the floor. 

I couldn't sleep any longer. I woke up and found this on the bed. 

3rd night. I gave up. Bed bugs, whatever bugs. Come get me.

I left Tioman Island with 37 *yes, I counted them* big red 50-cents sized bites all over my body. Although I doubt that its bed bugs; I can't identify for sure. But if I guess it right, at least 80% of them are sand flies bite. 

Oh well... bugs and all. You win. 

It's so good to be home.
